No matter what your experience level is in the industry, every professional can learn more about carpet cleaning. Technicians that choose to go without training and certification may one day find themselves at a significant disadvantage. According to consumer studies, clients are starting to place a larger emphasis on accreditation. This is because certified technicians consistently outperform untrained crews and usually offer better service as well.

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) is leading the charge in educating industry professionals around the world. Every year, the IICRC helps thousands of technicians and firm owners learn about carpet cleaning and many other related fields. These include water damage restoration, textile repair, fire and smoke damage restoration, mold remediation, color repair and odor removal. Most of these classes are only available in person, not online, but they are taught by IICRC-approved instructors that have demonstrated a strong track record of ethics and performance.

Once a technician completes the IICRC’s carpet cleaning technician (CCT) course, they will be ready to handle a large variety of soiling conditions and work settings. Over time, if a technician wants to improve their skills further, they can enroll in one of the  industries many continuing education courses online. These courses cover field work and business management.
